Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She's an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation at times. She joined ESPN as a reporter in 2016. She is the daughter television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since the age of nine. This skill has helped her get her first job at Univision, Miami. She could work with national producers on programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then it was announced that her CBS station in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. In addition, she was frequently asked to serve as a sports or weather anchor. She then anchored and reported at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as a sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also played the role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo, an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. Her residence was in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, where she had been offered an opportunity to work. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she was very aware of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. The result was that she enjoyed the university and that the school offered the major she wanted. When she finished high school, she made the decision to enroll at the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her confidence and whose passion for journalism deeply touched her. In turn, she strived to fulfill his expectations always delivering on time.
